Roasted Figs

Ingredients
  • 1# figs, stemmed and halved
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. Madeira (or other sturdy fortified red wine)
  • 2 Tbsp. good quality honey
  • leaves from 1 sprig rosemary, 1 tsp. chopped.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Place stemmed and halved figs in a medium or large sized bowl.
  3. Add lemon juice, madeira, honey, and rosemary to the bowl, gently toss.
  4. Place figs cut side down in a small baking dish, cover.
  5. Bake covered for 15 minutes and uncovered for 10-15 minutes.
