My friend, skating coach Lisa C., asked me if I would skate a duet for the Winter Solstice Show with her student Chris. Of course! I love Lisa’s projects so I say yes whenever possible. I hadn’t met Chris before but was pleased to find out that he’s a good skater, a fun person, and tall!
Lisa gave us some music suggestions, and when Chris heard the Jingle Bell Cha-Cha, he said, “That’s it.” I agreed. It’s from 1959 and I love its retro Mrs. Maisel-style cool. Though we only had a short time to pull our number together, we were able to remember our choreography and skate it for the show with all the elements going well. And we had fun! It was a win all around and I hope to skate with Chris and Lisa C. again.

Love the photo and the video! So glad you had a good time with your duet. I hope you have more opportunities to skate with Chris in the future. You looked like you were having a wonderful time out there. Was he a lefty skater also? Happy New Year!
Thanks so much Melissa! Yes I’m glad I did it and I hope we get to skate together again. I don’t think he is a lefty skater. Happy New Year to you too!
Mary, your holiday program brought a big big smile to my face. Thanks to you and Chris for this fun and happy video. Happy holidays to all and hopes for a good start to 2020–with lots of skating!
Thanks, Jo, hearing that makes me happy too!
