I made this striking black-and-white dessert pizza last night. It’s a variation on my fig mascarpone pizza, this time with a mixture of blackberries and figs. ‘Twas good! I meant to use a mixture of white and white whole wheat flour in the crust but ended up using a mix of white and regular whole wheat. Only one of my five tasters asked for a lighter crust. I used Jack Bishop’s whole wheat crust recipe from his Complete Italian Vegetarian Cookbook.
I’m getting ready for a family birthday party this weekend with at least 30 guests and will be cooking up a storm today: minty quinoa tabbouli, hummus, a somewhat healthy carrot cake and more. I’ll wait until tomorrow to make some of the last-minute items like fruit salad and sliced raw veggies. That plus getting the house ready ought to keep me busy. Yesterday I did lots of housecleaning and shopping but just had to get a skate in, too, to cut the stress. Can’t really do without it!

Come on over and get some!
This pizza looks amazing, Mary. You can’t get much better than fresh blackberries and figs! Ok… maybe if you added a bit of chocolate drizzle on top. 🙂
